Azaleas prefer a cooler growing condition than other houseplants. They can withstand cold temperatures as long as they are not below 2 degrees celsius.
The cooler Azaleas are kept the longer each flower will last before you will need to remove the finished flower (called deadheading).
Azaleas go well with Citrus, Hyacinths, Cyclamen and Cymbidium due to similar temperature requirements.
Watering
The compost that the Azalea has being grown in will need to be kept damp to prevent the flowers falling off.
The temperature that the plants have been grown in will dictate the watering frequency. In most cases you will need to water every 1-2 days.
When watering you should never get the leaves or flowers wet as this will lead to grey mold (Botrytis) forming on the flowers.
When using a watering can, pull back the leaves and water the compost. Avoid watering the centre of the plant, leaves or flowers.
Maintenance
Deadheading finished flowers and removing of yellow leaves will ensure that the plant is always looking at its best.
