What is Bulb Fibre?

Bulb Fibre is a specially designed compost for growing bulbs. The difference between bulb fibre and multipurpose compost is that bulb fibre has a very open and free draining structure so the bulbs don't rot. Bulb Fibre has few or no nutrients as bulbs don't require them if they are only being grown short term in containers, and it has a soil 'sweetener' which is usually charcoal. The charcoal keeps the compost from becoming sour if it is in an enclosed container with no drainage holes, which is important when growing indoors.
What do I use Bulb Fibre for?

Bulb fibre is used for planting bulbs into pots and containers.  It can be used for both outdoor bulbs such as Crocus, Muscari, Tulips and Narcissus and for indoor bulbs such as prepared Hyacinths and Paperwhite Narcissus. It is not used for planting bulbs in the ground.
